Manchester City is keeping a close eye on Douglas Luiz this season and they want him back at the club when the transfer window opens.
Luiz signed for Villa after failing to get a work permit at Etihad and Pep Guardiola was dissappointed at this decision.
In an interview last summer, Pep said, “I am so sad and disappointed for Douglas because he could help us, play with us.”
“He has shown many good things in training sessions and the reason why we spent a lot of money to buy him is because he is a player with a huge capacity to play for us.”
Douglas Luiz has become an integral part of the starting XI since the restart and earned the affection of many fans. But City inserted a clause in the deal that allows them to re-sign Luiz if he impressed in English Football.
After all the reports of Pep interested in bringing him back he wants to stay at Villa for long time as he mentioned in his recent interview.
“I have a four-year contract with Aston Villa. My objective is to continue here, and to make history with the club that opened the door for me.”
